Any Lucia Lopez Belloza a 19-year-old college student deported despite judge’s order blocking her removal: Lawyer

Any Lucia Lopez Belloza, a 19-year-old freshman at Babson College in Massachusetts, was detained at Boston Logan International Airport while attempting to board a flight home for Thanksgiving — and subsequently deported to Honduras, despite a federal court order blocking her removal.

Lopez Belloza had entered the U.S. from Honduras at age 8. Her lawyer claims she was unaware of any active removal order — and that the last known case involving her was closed in 2017.

On November 20, 2025, as she prepared to fly to Texas to surprise her family, she cleared airport security but was stopped at the gate. She was detained, taken to an immigration facility, and later flown to Texas — then deported to Honduras.

A day before her removal, a federal judge had signed an emergency order that prohibited her transfer outside Massachusetts — yet authorities moved forward with deportation anyway, according to her attorney.

Now back in Honduras and living with her grandparents, Lopez Belloza says she feels her “dream has been shattered.” She was studying business at Babson and hoped to use her degree to help her father open a tailoring shop.

Her legal team vows to fight the removal, calling her deportation “illegal” and demanding accountability for what they describe as a violation of due process.
